In December 2020 Christies in Paris held the auction Post War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Scherzando by Alicia Penalba. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 72,500.00 61% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alicia Penalba; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ventisquero sold at auction in March this year with the realized price of USD 107,100.00 (€ 98,509.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 61 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scherzando von Alicia Penalba zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 72.500,00 und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alicia Penalba; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ventisquero im März diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 98.509,93).
