This artwork by Alfred Pollentine achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2009. In the Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures including Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work The Grand Canal, Venice sold for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,523.80) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alfred Pollentine; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Santa Maria della Salute; and The Doge's Palace, Venice sold at auction in June 2000 with the realized price of GBP 8,812.50 (€ 13,968.90).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred Pollentine erzielte im November 2009 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
