This work of art by Alfred Pollentine could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work The Doge'S Palace, Grand Canal, Venice changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,014.65) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Pollentine - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Santa Maria della Salute; and The Doge's Palace, Venice, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 8,812.50 (€ 13,968.90).
