In the Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures including Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work Barbariya Palace, Venice; and The Grand Canal, Venice sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,103.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Pollentine - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Santa Maria della Salute; and The Doge's Palace, Venice, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 8,812.50 (€ 13,968.90).
