This artwork by Alfred Pollentine achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2009. In the Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures including Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work Barbariya Palace, Venice; and The Grand Canal, Venice sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,103.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Pollentine - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Santa Maria della Salute; and The Doge's Palace, Venice, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 8,812.50 (€ 13,968.90).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred Pollentine erzielte im November 2009 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures including Drawings and Watercolours wurde die Arbeit Barbariya Palace, Venice; and The Grand Canal, Venice für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.103,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Pollentine mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Santa Maria della Salute; and The Doge's Palace, Venice beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für GBP 8.812,50 (€ 13.968,90) versteigert wurde.
