Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,244.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alfred Montague have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A blustery day in the estuary in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 3,760.00 (€ 5,397.54).

Die Arbeit Hay Barges In A Continental Port At Dusk von Alfred Montague kam im Juni 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 840,00 (€ 1.244,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
