Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a young girl with a bonnet holding a small bouquet by Alfred Edward Emslie was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2002. The price achieved of GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,787.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Edward Emslie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bending Sail After A Gale in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 121,250.00 (€ 146,600.36).
