The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,479.90), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Edward Emslie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bending Sail After A Gale in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 121,250.00 (€ 146,600.36).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.875,00 (€ 9.479,90) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Edward Emslie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bending Sail After A Gale im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 121.250,00 (€ 146.600,36).
