Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Christ in a garden of lilies by Alfred Edward Emslie. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,360.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Edward Emslie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bending Sail After A Gale in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 121,250.00 (€ 146,600.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Christ in a garden of lilies von Alfred Edward Emslie zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.360,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Edward Emslie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bending Sail After A Gale im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 121.250,00 (€ 146.600,36).
