The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,379.84), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Edward Emslie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bending Sail After A Gale in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 121,250.00 (€ 146,600.36).

Die Arbeit At Twilight von Alfred Edward Emslie wurde im Mai 2014 in der Auktion A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.379,84) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Edward Emslie erzielen.
