The work At Twilight by Alfred Edward Emslie was sold in the A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting auction at Sothebys in London in May 2014. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,379.84), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Edward Emslie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bending Sail After A Gale in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 121,250.00 (€ 146,600.36).

Die Arbeit At Twilight von Alfred Edward Emslie wurde im Mai 2014 in der Auktion A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.379,84) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Edward Emslie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bending Sail After A Gale im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 121.250,00 (€ 146.600,36).
