Despite a disappointment, a good price for Alfred Edward Emslie
When the work Bending Sail After A Gale by Alfred Edward Emslie was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 121,250.00 (€ 146,600.36). Despite this disappointing result, Bending Sail After A Gale is the most expensive artwork by Alfred Edward Emslie that we have observed at auction so far.

Als die Arbeit Bending Sail After A Gale von Alfred Edward Emslie im November 2008 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
