Artwork auctioned at nine times the upper estimate price
The work Painting Coastal by Alexander MacKenzie was worth GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,223.65) to a buyer in November 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Day Auction at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander MacKenzie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Painting (Gwithian) Aug 57-, which sold at auction in June 2017 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 45,552.54).

Die Arbeit Painting Coastal von Alexander MacKenzie war einem Käufer im November 2016 GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.223,65) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Day Auction bei Sothebys in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander MacKenzie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Painting (Gwithian) Aug 57- beobachtet, die im Juni 2017 für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 45.552,54) versteigert wurde.
