Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Duchamp's Hands Playing Chess, New York' by Alexander Liberman was auctioned at Bonhams in London in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,024.00 (€ 929.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Liberman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Solstice Vii in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 37,390.17).
