Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Geometric AbstractionPrints & Multiples, which included the work A Group of 3 Prints (3 works) by Alexander Liberman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 828.75 (€ 685.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Liberman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Solstice Vii in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 37,390.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Geometric AbstractionPrints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Group of 3 Prints (3 works) von Alexander Liberman zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 828,75 (€ 685,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Liberman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Solstice Vii im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 37.390,17).
