Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Picturesque Coastal Landscape by Alexander Cozens was sold in the An Exceptional Eye: A Private British Collection auction at Sothebys in London in July 2010. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,711.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Cozens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Bay At Dusk in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 108,000.00 (€ 160,062.82).

Die Arbeit Picturesque Coastal Landscape von Alexander Cozens wurde im Juli 2010 in der Auktion An Exceptional Eye: A Private British Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.711,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Cozens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Bay At Dusk im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 108.000,00 (€ 160.062,82).
