In December 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work A wooded landscape with two figures and a goat before a classical temple by Alexander Cozens. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,790.57), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Cozens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Bay At Dusk in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 108,000.00 (€ 160,062.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A wooded landscape with two figures and a goat before a classical temple von Alexander Cozens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.790,57) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Cozens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Bay At Dusk im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 108.000,00 (€ 160.062,82).
