This artwork by Alex Guofeng Cao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2012. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Brigitte Vs. Eve, Creation Of Eve sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 15,787.81) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alex Guofeng Cao; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Warhol Versus Mao, After Mapplethorpe, 2009 sold at auction in October 2012 with the realized price of USD 23,750.00 (€ 18,328.45).
