Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View of Moscow, near Mossovet by Aleksandr Gerasimov was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 68,750.00 (€ 77,285.20). Admittedly, works by Aleksandr Gerasimov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With Roses in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 361,250.00 (€ 450,101.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit View of Moscow, near Mossovet von Aleksandr Gerasimov im Juni 2019 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 68.750,00 (€ 77.285,20) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Aleksandr Gerasimov auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With Roses im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 361.250,00 (€ 450.101,61).
