Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peonies by Aleksandr Gerasimov was sold in the Important Russian Art auction at Christies in London in November 2019. The price achieved of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 205,492.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Aleksandr Gerasimov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With Roses, which sold at auction in May 2012 for GBP 361,250.00 (€ 450,101.61).
