In May 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Important Russian Art, which included the work Still Life With Roses by Aleksandr Gerasimov. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 361,250.00 (€ 450,101.61), 45% above the upper estimate. With this result, Still Life With Roses is even the most expensive work of art by Aleksandr Gerasimov that we have observed at auctions so far.
