Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tablón 40 by Alejandro Otero was sold in the Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 312,500.00 (€ 295,424.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alejandro Otero - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Coloritmo 57, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 790,000.00 (€ 747,964.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Tablón 40 von Alejandro Otero wurde im November 2016 in der Auktion Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 300.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 312.500,00 (€ 295.424,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Alejandro Otero mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Coloritmo 57 beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 790.000,00 (€ 747.964,40) versteigert wurde.
