Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boceto Para Coloritmo 5 by Alejandro Otero was sold in the Latin American Art Online auction at Christies in New York in November 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,462.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alejandro Otero achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Coloritmo 57 in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 790,000.00 (€ 747,964.40).

Die Arbeit Boceto Para Coloritmo 5 von Alejandro Otero wurde im November 2020 in der Auktion Latin American Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.462,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alejandro Otero erzielen.
