The work Praise, from Rubber Stamp Portfolio by Agnes Martin was sold in the Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash auction at Bonhams in New York in August this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,176.00 (€ 2,007.57), 45% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Agnes Martin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled #44 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 17,728,800.00 (€ 15,707,273.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Praise, from Rubber Stamp Portfolio von Agnes Martin wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.176,00 (€ 2.007,57) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Agnes Martin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled #44 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.728.800,00 (€ 15.707.273,85).
