Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled #6 by Agnes Martin was sold in the 20th Century Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in November this year. The price achieved of USD 5,011,000.00 (€ 4,593,876.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Agnes Martin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled #44, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 17,728,800.00 (€ 15,707,273.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled #6 von Agnes Martin wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.011.000,00 (€ 4.593.876,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Agnes Martin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled #44 beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 17.728.800,00 (€ 15.707.273,85) versteigert wurde.
