The work Valle d'Argento by Afro was auctioned at Christies in October 2021. It achieved a price of EUR 87,500.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46 %. Admittedly, works by Afro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Porta Portese in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 938,500.00 (€ 721,368.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Valle d'Argento von Afro kam im Oktober 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 87.500,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Afro auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Porta Portese im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 938.500,00 (€ 721.368,18).
