This artwork by Afrika achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in October 2007. In the The John L. Stewart Collection of Russian Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,480.53) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Afrika have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Malevich! in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,473.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Afrika erzielte im Oktober 2007 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The John L. Stewart Collection of Russian Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.480,53) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Afrika auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Malevich! im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.473,92).
