Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Afrika was auctioned at Sothebys in Olympia in June 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,766.81). Admittedly, works by Afrika have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Malevich! in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,473.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Afrika im Juni 2007 bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.766,81) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Afrika auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Malevich! im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.473,92).
