Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work The Metropolitan Opera, Romeo and Juliet Set by Abelardo Morell. The price achieved of USD 2,772.00 (€ 2,790.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Abelardo Morell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001 in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 27,367.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Metropolitan Opera, Romeo and Juliet Set von Abelardo Morell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.772,00 (€ 2.790,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Abelardo Morell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001 im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 27.367,27).
