Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work Metropolitan Opera, Romeo and Juliet by Abelardo Morell for USD 704.00 (€ 615.28). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Photographs at Bonhams in Skinner Boston and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abelardo Morell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001 in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 27,367.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2024 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Metropolitan Opera, Romeo and Juliet von Abelardo Morell für USD 704,00 (€ 615,28) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Photographs bei Bonhams in Skinner Boston erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abelardo Morell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001 im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 27.367,27).
