A top price for Abelardo Morell - as previously expected
In October 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001 by Abelardo Morell. The price achieved of USD 30,000.00 (€ 27,367.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001 is the most expensive artwork by Abelardo Morell that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Oktober 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001 von Abelardo Morell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 27.367,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Abelardo Morell, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
