Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Camera Obscura Image of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, East Entrance in Gallery #171 with a de Chirico Painting by Abelardo Morell. The price achieved of USD 10,795.00 (€ 10,214.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abelardo Morell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001, which sold at auction in October 2016 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 27,367.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Camera Obscura Image of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, East Entrance in Gallery #171 with a de Chirico Painting von Abelardo Morell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.795,00 (€ 10.214,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Abelardo Morell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für USD 30.000,00 (€ 27.367,27) versteigert wurde.
