Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The river ferry by Abdullah Ariff was sold in the Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2010. The price achieved of HKD 20,000.00 (€ 2,077.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 16,000.00 – 24,000.00. Admittedly, works by Abdullah Ariff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Hill Spring, 12th Milestone, Penang in November 2012 with an auction result of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 19,830.90).

Die Arbeit The river ferry von Abdullah Ariff wurde im Mai 2010 in der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 20.000,00 (€ 2.077,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 16.000,00 – 24.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Abdullah Ariff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Hill Spring, 12th Milestone, Penang im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 19.830,90).
