In June 2000 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work At the Riverhead by Aaron Harry Gorson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,637.50 (€ 8,001.57), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Aaron Harry Gorson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Steel Mill, Pennsylvania in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 92,500.00 (€ 67,131.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit At the Riverhead von Aaron Harry Gorson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.637,50 (€ 8.001,57) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Aaron Harry Gorson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Steel Mill, Pennsylvania im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 92.500,00 (€ 67.131,14).
