Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Fourth Of July by Aaron Harry Gorson was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 7,086.70). Admittedly, works by Aaron Harry Gorson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Steel Mill, Pennsylvania in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 92,500.00 (€ 67,131.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Fourth Of July von Aaron Harry Gorson im April 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.375,00 (€ 7.086,70) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Aaron Harry Gorson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Steel Mill, Pennsylvania im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 92.500,00 (€ 67.131,14).
