Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Bamboo by a garden rock by Zhu Sheng was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - SEK 40,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at SEK 200,000.00 (€ 16,978.02). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhu Sheng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ink Bamboo, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 525,000.00 (€ 57,358.61).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Bamboo by a garden rock von Zhu Sheng im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – SEK 40.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit SEK 200.000,00 (€ 16.978,02) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhu Sheng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ink Bamboo beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 525.000,00 (€ 57.358,61) versteigert wurde.
