In October 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work The Road To Socialism by Zhong Biao. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 250,000.00 (€ 25,738.23), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhong Biao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marksman, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 121,000.00 (€ 76,558.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Road To Socialism von Zhong Biao zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 25.738,23) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhong Biao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Marksman beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 121.000,00 (€ 76.558,05) versteigert wurde.
