This artwork by Zhong Biao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2013. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Gilded Dragon sold for HKD 350,000.00 (€ 33,183.89) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhong Biao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marksman, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 121,000.00 (€ 76,558.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 94 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhong Biao erzielte im November 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Gilded Dragon für HKD 350.000,00 (€ 33.183,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhong Biao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Marksman beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 121.000,00 (€ 76.558,05) versteigert wurde.
