Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy In Running Script by Zhang Yuzhao was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 81,250.00 (€ 9,286.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Yuzhao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four-Character Couplet in Running Script, which sold at auction in October 2012 for HKD 322,000.00 (€ 32,055.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script von Zhang Yuzhao wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 9.286,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Yuzhao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Four-Character Couplet in Running Script beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für HKD 322.000,00 (€ 32.055,87) versteigert wurde.
