Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Heaven No.4 / Untitled by Zhang Xiaotao was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 93,750.00 (€ 9,536.15). Admittedly, works by Zhang Xiaotao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Condom Series: Enlarged Props-Crystal And Fishes 2 in April 2007 with an auction result of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 47,190.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Heaven No.4 / Untitled von Zhang Xiaotao im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 93.750,00 (€ 9.536,15) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Xiaotao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Condom Series: Enlarged Props-Crystal And Fishes 2 im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 47.190,04).
