Sold at the upper estimate price
In October 2008 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Chinese Art, which included the work Gift From Heaven No.13 by Zhang Xiaotao. The auction ended at the price of HKD 150,000.00 (€ 15,257.85), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Xiaotao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Condom Series: Enlarged Props-Crystal And Fishes 2, which sold at auction in April 2007 for HKD 504,000.00 (€ 47,190.04).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Chinese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gift From Heaven No.13 von Zhang Xiaotao zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 15.257,85) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Xiaotao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Condom Series: Enlarged Props-Crystal And Fishes 2 beobachtet, die im April 2007 für HKD 504.000,00 (€ 47.190,04) versteigert wurde.
