Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Decayed Landscape #2 by Zhang Xiaotao was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2007. The price achieved of USD 18,000.00 (€ 13,458.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Xiaotao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Condom Series: Enlarged Props-Crystal And Fishes 2, which sold at auction in April 2007 for HKD 504,000.00 (€ 47,190.04).

Die Arbeit Decayed Landscape #2 von Zhang Xiaotao kam im März 2007 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 18.000,00 (€ 13.458,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Xiaotao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Condom Series: Enlarged Props-Crystal And Fishes 2 beobachtet, die im April 2007 für HKD 504.000,00 (€ 47.190,04) versteigert wurde.
