In February 2008 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale (Afternoon Session), which included the work Joyful Time No. 1 by Zhang Linhai. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 102,500.00 (€ 134,065.98), 71% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhang Linhai; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Red Flag sold at auction in May 2007 with the realized price of HKD 2,640,000.00 (€ 251,381.85).

Im Februar 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale (Afternoon Session) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Joyful Time No. 1 von Zhang Linhai zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 102.500,00 (€ 134.065,98) und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhang Linhai; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Red Flag im Mai 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 2.640.000,00 (€ 251.381,85).
