Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Zeng Guofan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Su Shi'S Poems In Running Script sold for USD 200,000.00 (€ 162,337.66) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zeng Guofan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 228,514.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zeng Guofan erzielte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Su Shi'S Poems In Running Script für USD 200.000,00 (€ 162.337,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zeng Guofan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II im April letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 228.514,76).
