It achieved a price of HKD 44,625.00 (€ 4,859.59), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 28%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zeng Guofan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II in April last year with an auction result of HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 228,514.76).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script von Zeng Guofan wurde im August 2021 in der Auktion Chinese PaintingsThe Online Sale bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 44.625,00 (€ 4.859,59) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 28%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zeng Guofan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 228.514,76).
