Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seven-Character Poem in Running Script by Zeng Guofan was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. The price achieved of HKD 126,000.00 (€ 15,099.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zeng Guofan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II in April last year with an auction result of HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 228,514.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seven-Character Poem in Running Script von Zeng Guofan wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 126.000,00 (€ 15.099,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zeng Guofan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 228.514,76).
