In June this year Christies in Paris held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Poems in Standard Script by Zeng Guofan. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,260,000.00 (€ 147,230.77), 58% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zeng Guofan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 228,514.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poems in Standard Script von Zeng Guofan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.260.000,00 (€ 147.230,77) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zeng Guofan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II im April letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 228.514,76).
