Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Black) by Zak Prekop was sold in the New Now Day Sale auction at Phillips in New York in February 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,476.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zak Prekop - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two Grids, Four Colors, which sold at auction in December 2021 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,297.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Black) von Zak Prekop wurde im Februar 2016 in der Auktion New Now Day Sale bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.476,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Zak Prekop mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Two Grids, Four Colors beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.297,58) versteigert wurde.
