A top price for Yukimasa Ida
When the work King of Rock by Yukimasa Ida was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 800,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 2,772,000.00 (€ 301,111.07). This high result makes King of Rock the most expensive artwork by Yukimasa Ida that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit King of Rock von Yukimasa Ida im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 800.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 2.772.000,00 (€ 301.111,07) mehr als dreimal so hoch.
