Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Visionary Hope by Yuan Yuan was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 1,250.00 (€ 131.85). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yuan Yuan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blues V in April this year with an auction result of HKD 540,000.00 (€ 551,445.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Visionary Hope von Yuan Yuan im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 1.250,00 (€ 131,85) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yuan Yuan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blues V im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 540.000,00 (€ 551.445,65).
