Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The People are the Heroes of their Time by Yu Youhan was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in May 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 625,000.00 (€ 71,366.59). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yu Youhan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 1985-4 in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 14,100,000.00 (€ 1,225,342.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The People are the Heroes of their Time von Yu Youhan im Mai 2017 bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 625.000,00 (€ 71.366,59) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yu Youhan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 1985-4 im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 14.100.000,00 (€ 1.225.342,42).
