This artwork by Yu Ming achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2016. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Samantabhadra sold for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 15,892.46) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yu Ming have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Monk; Scholar By The Pond in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 66,037.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 96 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yu Ming erzielte im Mai 2016 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Samantabhadra für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 15.892,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yu Ming auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Monk; Scholar By The Pond im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 66.037,09).
